Lipped Channels

Cold-formed C-channels optimized for roofing purlins and structural support.

Product Overview

Our lipped channels are cold-formed steel sections featuring a distinctive C-shape with inward-facing lips at the flange ends. This unique design provides enhanced stiffness and strength-to-weight ratio compared to standard channels.

Lipped channels are widely used as roofing purlins, wall girts, and structural framing members in pre-engineered buildings, warehouses, and industrial structures across Zambia.

Key Features

High Strength-to-Weight Ratio

Cold-formed design provides excellent strength while minimizing material weight.

Enhanced Stiffness

Lipped edges provide increased rigidity and resistance to buckling.

Easy Installation

Pre-punched holes available for quick bolted connections (on request).

Value-Added Services

Rolled to Length

We can roll lipped channels to your exact required lengths, reducing on-site cutting waste.

Punching & Notching

Pre-punched holes and notches available for faster on-site assembly.

Custom Profiles

Custom lipped channel dimensions can be manufactured to meet specific project requirements.

Lipped Channel vs Standard Channel

Lipped Channel

Features inward-facing lips on flange ends. Provides up to 30% greater stiffness than standard channels. Resists lateral-torsional buckling better. Ideal for long-span purlin applications.

Standard Channel (C-Section)

Open C-shape without lips. Lower stiffness-to-weight ratio. More economical for short spans. Easier to access for bolted connections.
